12:12 am, Cushing House, Case 1301-1312-OF

Medical Emergency: Officers and NFD responded for a report of a student having an asthma attack. She stated that she got no relief in spite of taking her inhalant medication. She was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital via ambulance.

02:54 am, Haven House, Case 1301-1314-OF

Fire Alarm: Officers and NFD were dispatched for a fire alarm activation in the kitchen. Grease on the stovetop began to smoke when the student started cooking. The Head Resident was advised to have the top of the stove cleaned as soon as possible. The system was reset.

07:24 am, CPA/Center for the Performing Arts, Case 1301-1315-OF

Vandalize Property: An officer met with a Smith employee to take a report of vandalism on the first floor. Graffiti was found on one of the kitchenette cabinets and in the men’s room on a bathroom stall. Case open.

05:33 pm, President’s House, Case 1301-1317-OF

Fire Alarm: Officers and NFD were dispatched for a fire alarm activation. A Smith College employee reported that he had lit a fire in the fireplace and some of the smoke went into the room rather than up the chimney. The system was reset and a fan was set up to clear the house of lingering smoke.

08:49 pm, McConnell Hall, Case 1301-1318-OF

Larceny Under $250: An officer met with a student to take a report of a stolen bicycle. The student stated that she secured the bike she had borrowed from the Bike Kitchen to the McConnell bike rack. When she returned about an hour later, the bike was gone. Case open.

November 12

06:20 am, Wilson House, Case 1301-1319-OF

Fire Alarm: Officers and NFD were dispatched for a fire alarm activation on the second floor. The cause was from steam coming from the showers. The system was reset.

November 13

04:41pm, Emerson House, Case 1301-1324-OF

Larceny of Drug: Two students came to the Campus Police station to report that they each had some prescription medication stolen from their rooms. Both students stated that their doors were not locked at the time of the theft. Case open.

06:56 pm, Neilson Library, Case 1301-1326-OF

Larceny Under $250: An officer met with a student at Neilson Library to take a report of her stolen personal items. The student stated that she left her belongings on a desk in the Mair Room and when she returned a few hours later her Mac laptop charger and iPod head phones were gone. Case open.

November 14

01:55 pm, Cushing House, Case 1301-1329-OF

Medical Emergency: An officer and NFD were dispatched for a report of a student who was experiencing abdominal pain. After speaking with the EMTs about her health issues she decided not to go to the hospital.

10:05 pm, Sessions House, Case 1301-1331-OF

Medical Emergency: An officer and detective were dispatched for a report of a student who had fallen and hit her head on her desk. The student stated that she had a coughing spell which caused her to feel light headed when she stood up. She requested a transport to Cooley Dickinson Hospital via cruiser.

November 15

08:02 am, Chase House, Case 1301-1332-OF

Medical Emergency: Officers were dispatched for a report of a student who had tripped and injured her ankle and was unable to walk. She was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital via cruiser.

02:52 pm, Wilder House, Case 1301-1337-OF

College Policy Violation: Officers responded for a report of a bong found by the Head Resident while she was doing room inspections. The item was confiscated and brought back to the Campus Police station where it was secured.

03:47 pm, Wilder House, Case 1301-1338-OF

College Policy Violation: Officers responded for a report of a hookah found by the Head Resident while she was doing room inspections. The resident of the room handed over the item which was brought back to the Campus Police station where it was secured.

November 16

12:09 am, Wilder House, Case 1301-1339-OF

Medical Emergency – Intoxicated: Officers and NFD were dispatched for a report of an intoxicated student who was in need of medical attention. She was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital via ambulance.

01:50 am, Campus Center, Case 1301-1341-OF

College Policy Violation: An officer, while on patrol doing building checks, found a male and female unclothed on a couch in one of the rooms on the second floor. They were told to get dressed and leave as it is against the law to engage in sexual activity in a public space.

12:45 pm, Gardiner House, Case 1301-1342-OF

College Policy Violation: An officer responded for a report of some marijuana and a glass pipe found by the Head Resident while she was doing room inspections. The items were confiscated and brought back to the Campus Police station where they were secured.

November 17

03:11 am, Friedman A3, Case 1301-1349-OF

Medical Emergency – Intoxicated: Officers and NFD were dispatched for a report of an intoxicated student who was in need of medical attention. She was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital via ambulance.

09:39 am, Haven House, Case 1301-1350-OF

Annoying Behavior: Officers were dispatched for a report of two students who are sharing a suite and were having some issues. Both students were told to contact their Head Resident for mediation meetings for further problems.

10:26 am, Morrow House, Case 1301-1352-OF

Annoying Behavior: Officers and a detective were dispatched for a report of a student who was very emotionally upset because her girlfriend told her that their relationship was over and did not want to leave the room.

November 18

08:09 am, Athletic Fields/Woods, Case 1301-1354-OF

Suspicious Activity: Officers met with members of the Smith College Grounds Crew in the wooded area of the athletic field track to stand by while a temporary structure was dismantled and removed. The shelter had been occupied by a homeless person who had been living in it for the last 2 months. No items of value were in it and the person was referred to a homeless and outreach service.

09:08 am, Ford Hall, Case 1301-1355-OF

Larceny Over $250: An officer met with a staff person in the Engineering Department in regards to a missing infrared camera. It is unknown when the camera went missing. Case open.

10:23 am, Emerson House, Case 1301-1356-OF

Larceny Under $250: A detective took a report from a student who came to the Campus Police station stating that some of her prescription medication was stolen from her room. Her room was unlocked at the time of the theft. Case open.

10:43 am, Parking Garage, Case 1301-1357-OF

Tagging Property: An officer was dispatched to take a report from a staff person of recent vandalism. The person showed the officer where the tagging was done in magic marker on the elevator doors and a sign on the lower Level B. Case open.

05:17 pm, Tenney House, Case 1301-1358-OF

Fire Alarm: Officers and NFD were dispatched for a fire alarm activation in the living room. The cause was smoke coming from the adjacent kitchen where students were cooking. The area was ventilated and the system was reset.
